Angel Flight
Gathering of Eagles Pilots' Conference
April 16-18, 2010

Virginia Beach, VA

SATURDAY APRIL 17

The morning broke cool, windy, and cloudy. Good thing, it would make us not miss the beach while we
attended the conference!

Great conference, here Ed Boyer, the guy who started it all, addresses the Pilots' Briefing.

We also attended the Community Representative training - let me know if you need someone
to speak to YOUR group about what Angel Flight does.

The Gathering of Eagles Banquet was very special. The featured speaker was Richard Kirkland. He is
87 years young and flew P-38s in the squadron with America's Ace of Aces Dick Bong in the WWII Pacific Theater.
In the Korean War, he pioneered the use of Medivac helicopters. A fascinating gentleman, truly one of
the Greatest Generation.

Our new friends Elaine and Chris Noonan with Richard Kirkland. They fly a182 out of Hanover VA.

Jim and Carl Schultz flew to Virginia Beach from Michigan in a Robinson R44 helicopter!

Ed Boyer and his wife were very gracious to pose with us. What a legacy he has already created.

The Noonans and the Boyers.
